About the programmes
Journalism program offers a very wide range of journalism skills, from how to research and write a basic news story, to how to lay-out a page, work fast online and handle social media. Media and communication degrees face the challenge of keeping pace with the latest trends and debates, preparing students for work in media-related industries, and also training them as critical commentators on the ways in which media reflects, represents and influences the world.

Offered programmes:

Subjects taught in English

Teaching methods include lectures, seminars and personal tutorials, practical sessions, guest speakers. This is all arranged in correlation with lectures/professors. You will also spend a significant amount of time in doing personal study.

Lectures are given in Bosnian/Croatian/Serbian. For exchange students it is possible to organize special consultations in English regarding their work, research, exams, paper work or mentorship. You have to check with the Faculty’s coordinator before applying for this institution.

Assessment is by courseware, classroom tests and examinations. Group learning, teamwork, individual work and communication skills are assessed through design group studies and reports as well as presentations.

Degree and qualifications
The first cycle lasts 3 years of study (total of 180 ECTS) in order to obtain the degree of Bachelor.
The second cycle lasts 1-2 years of study (total of 60-120 ECTS) and leads to a Master degree.
The third cycle lasts 3 years of study (total of 180 ECTS) in order to obtain a PhD degree.

Career options
Thanks to the fast pace of change in communications technologies, careers in journalism are more diverse than ever before. New technologies are also opening up many new and evolving roles too. As a media studies graduate, you should have strong analytical skills, excellent written and spoken communication, and a good instinct for what makes a captivating story, image or headline – all of which should help you make a good impression on potential employers.
